Hello, Beautiful Homemakers!  Can you believe we are  finally  on Pamphlet 8?  We are beginning Chapter 16 "Removing the Obstacles to Marriage."   "The objections of judgment always stand between desire and action. Those objections must be overcome before you can get him to act upon his desire to marry." We discuss two barriers to marriage and how to remove them. His biggest fear is usually that he cannot earn enough to support a wife.  (Our book about newlyweds Bettina and Bob, A Thousand Ways to Please a Husband , also had great advice on this front).  "If she imagines that the fear of being unable to support a wife is the obstacle, she must proceed to remove it.  Hello, Beautiful Homemakers!    We are in the middle of Chapter XV Arousing Worship, Adoration, and Love, of Pamphlet 7 of the original 1922 Fascinating Womanhood pamphlets.  This video starts with "The Story of a Stenographer" and her date taking her to supper at the Roof Garden. As she is looking around with interest at the crowd that was drinking, "the man naturally thought that she was wavering, that the contagious irresponsibility had affected her, and proceeded to wobble her pedestal; he was intensely interested, to tell the truth, in learning if she was the refined and idealistic woman she seemed." I got halfway through the subsection "How She Won Out" before I started telling stories of how I fell off my pedestal at work, on my first date with my now husband, and other stories, and I ran out of time, so we will finish this subsection in FW 7.6. Hello, Beautiful Homemakers!   We are delving into the middle of Chapter XV "Arousing Worship, Adoration, and Love."  We will cover  The Test of Every Man's Love; The Qualities that Arouse Worship; Where Nature Steps In;  and  How You Become the Mystery.   I mention quite a few things in this video, and I mention these 2 videos:  Jacob Whelan "Why I gave up on getting married and starting a Family"   and the Mr. Reagan channel telling about "Passport Bros" - men finding wives in other countries because they cannot stand what American women have become.  The name of the video is Man Keeping, and I didn't even go into what that means.  Remember how for decades women have told men to be softer and more emotionally available? Today I offer you an 8 page story written by Grace Livingston Hill's aunt Isabella Alden and mother Marcia Livingston.  Both sisters wrote several short stories together, and longer stories on their own.  Both had a profound impact on Grace and encouraged her in her writing. I found this story in the book: Grace Livingston Hill Collection No. 4.  Despondent at the thought of having to leave her husband behind in the city during the hot summer months, Faith Vincent wants to try her hand at housekeeping in the outskirts of the city.  Hello, Beautiful Homemakers!   Chapter XV of the original 1922 Fascinating Womanhood pamphlets, number 7 of 8 total, is entitled Arousing Worship, Adoration, and Love . The opening paragraph talks about one of the most powerful influences that draws people together being the fascination of secrets shared.   Of course, we are talking about confidences regarding aspirations and the like, not "bad" or unwholesome secrets, but ideas, joys, sorrows, encouragements, and discouragements that have fallen upon your life and his life, and how you have discussed these together.   If you have met his confidences with comfort, appreciation, sympathy, and applause , then he will continue to want to confide in you.
